Triconex Main Processor Modules (MPMs) are the core of Triconex safety instrumented systems (SIS), responsible for processing sensor data, executing safety logic, and initiating control actions to ensure process safety. These modules utilize Triple Modular Redundancy (TMR) technology, employing three independent processor channels for fault tolerance and ensuring safe operation even if one channel malfunctions. MPMs feature real-time processing, self-diagnostics, and watchdog timers for continuous system health monitoring. They are designed for high reliability in safety-critical applications, offering communication capabilities with other system components.
