To configure a single system, install EB401 in an odd-numbered slot, leaving a space on the right side of the installed module.

When connecting a Local Node to a Compact Field Control Unit (for FIO), install ESB Bus Coupler Module (EC401).

EC401 must be installed in slot 7 and slot 8. In a single configuration, install EC401 in slot 7, leaving slot 8 empty.
