Schneider Electric SE is expanding in India. It will acquire the remaining 35% of its India joint venture. This €5.5 billion deal is with Temasek Holdings Pte. Schneider Electric gains full ownership of Schneider Electric India Pvt. Bloomberg News reported this possibility earlier.


Strategic Move for a Key Market


This all-cash transaction totals $6.4 billion. Regulatory approvals are still pending. The Competition Commission of India must approve it. Schneider expects completion in coming quarters. Full ownership speeds up decision-making. India is a very key market for Schneider.


From Joint Venture to Full Control


Schneider Electric India was a joint venture. Schneider owned 65%; Temasek held 35%. This structure existed since 2020. That year, it merged with Larsen & Toubro's operations. This included low voltage and automation products.
