Rockwell Automation's new study shows a clear trend. Middle East manufacturers are embracing generative AI. They lead the world in this adoption. This finding comes from the 10th annual State of Smart Manufacturing Report.

AI Powers Regional Manufacturing

The report surveyed over 1,500 global manufacturing leaders. It highlighted strong AI adoption in the Middle East. Notably, 98% of regional firms use or plan generative AI. This is the highest global rate. Also, 96% commit to broader AI/ML technologies. Manufacturers now focus on specific strategies. They link digital investments to measurable results.

Outcome-Driven Digitalization

Ediz Eren, from Rockwell Automation, shared insights. He noted Middle East manufacturers solve real challenges. They use smart manufacturing technologies effectively. Digitalization now drives outcomes. These include cyber resilience, ESG, and workforce engagement.

Practical AI Applications Emerge

Manufacturers prioritize practical AI uses. In the next year, 68% plan AI for quality control. Also, 61% will use it for cybersecurity. Another 46% focus on energy management. These figures are higher than European benchmarks. This ROI focus already yields results. Generative AI is a top-returning technology for 10% of firms. Cybersecurity platforms also perform well for 15%.

Cybersecurity Becomes Core

Cybersecurity is now a foundational strategy. Ninety-eight percent of companies invest in these platforms. Also, 44% deploy countermeasures. This is the highest global rate. Cyber risk is a top external concern for 36%. This marks an increase from last year's 27%.

ESG Transformation Accelerates

The region's ESG transformation is speeding up. Efficiency motivates 70% of firms. This is 33% higher than last year. Forty-six percent use ESG for business outcomes. Additionally, 42% apply AI/ML for sustainability monitoring.

Workforce Skills Evolve

Technology also reshapes the workforce. Upskilling is a growing priority. Forty-three percent of regional respondents prioritize it. This is up 14% year-on-year. It significantly surpasses the European average.
