ABB Expands Industrial Robot Portfolio
Share

ABB Robotics significantly expands its large robot portfolio. They just launched the IRB 6730S, IRB 6750S, and IRB 6760. These new robots join others launched since 2022. ABB now offers the market's most comprehensive industrial robot range. This lineup includes 11 next-generation robot families. It boasts 60 variants. Customers gain flexibility and choice. They also benefit from top performance and sustainability.
Versatility Drives Robotics
Marc Segura, ABB's Robotics Division president, commented on the launch. He states these robots support their 2025 vision: "versatility" defines robotics. This market-leading range, plus mechatronic platforms, cobots, and AMRs, positions ABB well. They will support customers entering a new era of productivity and flexibility. Their automation helps address labor shortages. It also supports sustainable operations.
New Shelf-Mounted Robots Boost Density
The IRB 6730S and IRB 6750S are both shelf-mounted robots. They increase robot density on production lines. These robots handle industry-leading payloads up to 350 kg. Install them at height or on a second floor. They work with floor-mounted robots. This maximizes productivity. They offer excellent vertical and horizontal motion. This increases downward reach. These are ideal for die casting, injection molding, and spot welding. Industries include automotive, foundry, construction, and general manufacturing.
IRB 6760 Enhances Press Tending
The new IRB 6760 joins ABB's press tending robots. It offers the highest performance for mid-size press lines. Combine it with ABB’s carbon-fiber tooling boom. Production output can reach 15 strokes per minute. That is 900 parts per hour. The IRB 6760 press tending robot suits automotive, electronics, and general manufacturing.
OmniCore Powers Performance and Efficiency
All three new robots use OmniCore. This is ABB’s advanced automation controller. It reduces energy consumption by 20%. OmniCore also delivers class-leading performance. For instance, the IRB 6750S with OmniCore offers 0.9mm path accuracy.
Optimized Plant Performance
This comprehensive robot lineup works together. It further optimizes plant performance. Ten IRB 6730S or IRB 6750S shelf-mounted robots can work with eight floor-mounted IRB 6710~IRB 6740 robots. This increases car body spot welds from 70 to 80 joints. This takes only 15 seconds, compared to predecessors. The lineup’s modular design helps reduce total cost of ownership. It shares spare parts and service tools.
